LAIA ALONSO
(She/Her)

Neuroscientist, Founder of the Self+ Collective, Yin Yoga teacher

TOPIC MASTERCLASS:
The Neuroscience of Rest

Laia has a BA in Cellular Neuroscience and is undergoing her MSc in Brain and Cognitive Sciences with a focus on Cognitive Neuroscience from the University of Amsterdam. Her research focus has been on mindfulness, meditation, and breathwork and its effects on neuroplasticity and attentional awareness. Between her studies, Laia worked in the field of mental health, creating resources for clinicians to further educate their clients about these practices. Laia believes that understanding the science of mindfulness, meditation, and rest can further motivate people to take the time to slow down, practice, and embody a pace of life that feels right for themselves and their own brains.

Laia is also a registered yoga teacher (RYT-200hr) and has further undergone yin yoga training to focus on both the yang & yin energies of the yogic practice - and of life in general. She is a certified integrative health coach and a breath coach, and recently founded The Self+ Collective: a platform for people to get to know more about themselves and their bodies. Laia brings all of her knowledge and intuitive wisdom into her holistic practices and space holdings - knowing that all these energies work together to create a synergy of sustainable change.
